My Son - 60 km from Hoi An
My Son was the spiritual and political capital of the ancient Champa Kingdom between the 4th and 13th centuries. It is nestled between lush valleys and mountains. My Son sanctuary is a large complex of religious relics that comprises more than 70 architectural works. They include temples and towers that connect each other with intricate red brick designs. My Son was recognized by UNESCO in 1999 as a World Cultural Heritage site and is well worth a visit, we recommend getting up early to watch a stunning sunrise there.
Cham Island
Cham Island is an island group of 8 islands however only Hon Lao - the main island - is populated. The islands have been recognized by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve. The local government has set up controlled and environmentally friendly tourism since 2011 and was the first plastic-free destination in Vietnam. The Marine Protection Authority has set up several artificial coral reefs to help the reproduction of the ocean biosphere that was previously damaged.

Cham Island is a great day tour to get out of the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Join a diving or snorkeling tour and have lunch at the beach on the island, enjoy the breeze on the boat and the island vibe. The best time to visit Cham Island is from March to September. During the rainy season October to February, the island has no access to tourist boats.
